The corresponding design and dimensioning of the S&B swivel plate classifier guarantee its high efficiency values and minimize interruptions in the sorting processes. The air classifier also has a compact design which allows its straightforward retrofitting to a belt transfer point.
Operating principle
A belt conveyor running at a variable speed is used to feed material to the classifier head. An adjustable blow nozzle generates a targeted air flow which separates the material into different grain sizes. Heavy material falls down onto a discharging belt conveyor while lightweight material is extracted upwards and fed to a specific separator.
The function is similar to the function performed by the blow-suction classifier, and the installation of an additional swivel plate or baffle plate prevents clogging by unwanted oversize grain flow. If this happens, the plate will swivel to the rear under the effect of the weight, and clear the classifier space.
