Coanda classifier impresses jury - Innovation award for S&B

04.December 2024
On Wednesday, 4 December 2024, our newly developed Coanda classifier was awarded the „Innovationspreis Thüringen”. At the festive award ceremony in Weimar, we received the coveted award in the presence of the Thuringian Minister of Economics, Wolfgang Tiefensee. The jury recognised the precision of the separation, energy savings and the flexible application possibilities of our new air classifier.

Schulz & Berger is known almost worldwide for its high-performance air classifiers. As one of the technology leaders, our systems impress with their reliable and precise material separation, especially in recycling and waste disposal companies. With the Coanda classifier introduced at the beginning of the year, we offer customers an even more efficient solution for separating light and heavy materials.

Marcel Rohmann, one of the two S&B managing directors, comments: „Even during the initial trials and the presentation at the IFAT trade fair, we knew that we would take the windsifting process to a new level with the Coanda separator. That's why we decided to take part in the Innovation Award.“

The Thuringia Innovation Award is regarded as a benchmark for innovative new developments and inventions in the Free State of Thuringia and honours outstanding innovations made in Thuringia. ‘The fact that we were ultimately able to convince the jury and that I was able to accept this award on behalf of our entire team makes me incredibly proud. All the fingers crossed paid off,’ adds Rohmann with a smile.

Three aspects were decisive for the jury, who voted the classifier into first place in the ‘Industry and Material’ category. First and foremost was the high degree of purity in the separation - purities of up to 95% are possible depending on the input material. In combination with the approximately 40 % lower energy consumption and the flexible application and installation options, the new air separator ensured that the trophy was awarded to Schulz & Berger for the first time.
